Leave a Gift in Will

Consider leaving a gift in a will to support our future entrepreneurial efforts. A legacy gift is a powerful way to ensure our Saltire Scholars Internship Program creates life-changing opportunities for interns for many more years to come.

How to leave a legacy to Saltire Foundation Canada

Leaving a gift in your will to Saltire Foundation Canada is simple. It can be included in your will by naming Saltire Foundation Canada as a beneficiary. Your gift can be residual, a percentage of the remainder of your estate after all your other provisions have been made, or specific, a fixed amount or percentage of cash, securities, or property.

When preparing your will, please note that our legal name is: Saltire Foundation Canada Charitable Registration No: BN829489905 RR 0001

Adding Saltire Foundation Canada to an existing will

If you already have a will, it is easy to include Saltire Foundation Canada by adding a codicil. A codicil is an additional legal document that lets you amend your will without needing to re-write it. Please ask your lawyer for more information on using a codicil to include Saltire Foundation Canada in your estate planning.

Benefits of a charitable bequest

Leaving a gift in your will can provide tax benefits that will be passed on to your heirs. When you donate to Saltire Foundation Canada through your will, the gift can be claimed against 100% of net income on the final two lifetime tax returns. In some instances, making a charitable donation can offset taxes, ensuring that gifts to family and friends are worth more.
